Don’t let the title fool you. I heart peanut butter and can’t stop… It’s scary how quickly I can go through and entire jar all by myself. I sneak a little bit every day until it’s gone. It was actually banned it from my house for a while because peanut butter was more dangerous for me to have around than a package of cookies (honestly, I probably would have spread peanut butter on the cookie and then ate it- so maybe they’re tied). Anyways, on a recent trip to Trader Joe’s, I decided to buy some natural peanut butter. Usually I prefer the hydrogenated stuff (hence why I call it “dangerous”). The consistency of the natural stuff just freak
ed me out a little. I’ve had it several times before, and just couldn’t get used to it. But I’m a grown up and should give it another shot. And it’s soooo much better for you… Plus, I learned that I need to stop shying away from buying more stuff at Trader Joe’s- a lot of times it ends up being cheaper there!
So I bought some. And tried again. And liked it! I’m still not a fan of having to mix it up a little before I scoop it out, but I can look past that. And this stuff is much better stirred in oatmeal than the processed crap. Looks like my breakfast is going to include this yummy goodness until it’s all gone…
On another note…
Holy cow it’s cold outside! It was -1 degrees when I left my house. According to weather.com, it’s warmed up three degrees. But I don’t know if I believe it. When I started my car, it made those noises like, “seriously bitch, this is not going to fly all winter long…” I whisper sw
eet nothings to it (ok, vulgarities that shall not be typed out in full extent) until it starts and I’m happily on my way.
The Chicago winter is such a test of patience, endurance and strength. Usually, I fail at two out of three things. I’ll let you decide which ones they are.
Today I’m planning to make my way to the gym to do upper body stuff. My arms don’t feel like they’re going to fall off anymore, so I’m going to be doing weights and abs. Looking back, I wish I would have taken a “before picture” of my arms. Because I stand by my earlier statement- they’re gonna be SO TONED by the end of this!

Once I used natural peanut butter for a while, then tasted the regular stuff…the regular stuff was so yucky sweet and artificial tasting! I love the Trader Joe’s chunky natural…tasty!

The TJ’s peanut butter with flax is my personal fav. Good stuff. And I’m the same way with almond butter. Which is why I buy peanut butter. Or else I just stand there spoon feeding myself, which is fine when you’re training for a marathon. Not so fine when you’re on the DL.
Ummm Trader Joe’s is pretty much the only place to buy nut butters, in my opinion. I am deeply in love with their unsalted smooth almond butter. It’s my sweet, sweet mono- and polyunsaturated oil addiction.
I feel you on the winter endurance. Boston ain’t so pretty this time of year either.
