Um… there’s a reason this post is so late. I’m nursing a bit of a headache… Sorry.
Let’s start from the beginning.
I woke up to some serious rain yesterday. And left early as to avoid any issues of getting to work on time. Fail. For some reason unknown to me, I sat in traffic that took twice as long as normal to get to work. Needless to say, I didn’t make it on time. The work environment hasn’t been the most enjoyable and happy one recently, so my mood only worsened. I won’t get into details, but it’s not exactly pleasant. And of course, since it’s Tuesday, it didn’t surprise me that I had to stay late to work on a few things because of some IT issues.
And take a few deep breathes on the way home…
Needless to say, as soon as Mon showed up, I pulled out the wine glasses and filled them up. And then went on to create this:
I couldn’t believe how easy it was to make… and how healthy it was (compared to what I figured it would be). It was TJ’s whole wheat pizza dough, fat free pizza sauce, spinach, mushrooms, and TJ’s fat free feta. Magnificent… While we were waiting for it to finish in the oven, we had more of this:
By the time the pizza was done, I was already two glasses into my night. So I kinda didn’t take pics of the finished product. I’m sorry. Please imagine the above pic… just cooked.
It was awesome. Wine and pizza should be a new staple in my diet. When I was checking out at Trader Joe’s with all the pizza goodness, the woman started raving about the dough (with good reason) and gave me a bunch of new ideas to try. Sweet! And Mon and I had a good time chit chatting and giggling like regular girls do. My mood lifted by the end of the night for sure. So at least our planned fun night did some damage control. I’ll call it a success.
Because of my affection for wine and hatred of Tuesdays, I used a corner of my kitchen this morning that doesn’t usually see much action in the middle of the week.
Oh my head… I used my new Celestial tea mug for my coffee. Yep, I really live on the edge by switching it up like that.
Don’t give me that look, Vince. You would have enjoyed one too many glasses of wine after a long day, too. Hush! Let me enjoy my oatmeal with way too much cereal and white chocolate chips in peace!
Yoga again tonight. Run planned for tomorrow. I’m feeling pretty good about the possibilities of doing the race on Sunday. Things are looking up!
I’m gonna go get more coffee… sorry I’m so boring today. But that bottle of wine last night was totally worth it. Yep. TOTALLY worth it. Just sayin’…

if i drank wine i probably would have gone straight for it after a day like yesterday. it seems a lot of people i know are having work issues plus me. not cool.
you totes deserve that bowl of oatmeal with a lil bit of extras…
hope your wednesday is WAY better than yesterday.
Yep… work can be an energy suck from time to time. I hope your day is going better, too!
Haha oh the lovely wine hangover. I was definitely nursing one of those on Sunday! Not fun! Hope you feel better soon!
Yeah I’d say the headache is totally worth the wine. Want to send some of that wine my way? Thanks. Sauvignon blanc is my FAVORITE wine, ever. Not so much for the red wine.
And the pizza looks delicious!! YUM! I wish there was a TJ’s a little closer to me… BUT I have a frozen package of their pizza dough in my freezer. I am hoarding it. and I now have a serious craving for pizza.
Sorry to hear that your work situation isn’t so great!! I miss my job.. well the kids.. but it’s nice to have a break from all the work drama.
And thank you for your sweet comment and well wishes on my blog, I appreciate it SO much!
Love you!
I would send some if I hadn’t of drank it all… lol.
Sorry you’re missing work- but yeah, the work drama is always stressful!
I keep trying to get into wine but its just not happening. Guess I’m strictly a vodka girl… speaking of which, I need to bring back cocktail hour on a regular basis. It does make the work week more bearable!
Aw! Sorry about the headache! Hungover workdays are the worst! But, at least you were drinking out of adorable glasses!
Wine + pizza sounds like a good night
Glad things are looking up for the race!
haha after my whole bunny situation, I finished the last half bottle of wine I had left.
This was after a couple of glasses at my moms house.
Im not feeling great today either!
Well clearly we’re just a couple of wine superstars!
Your day yesterday, is mine today. I feel your pain.
I want some wine.
If your day really is like mine, you’ll need some. I suggest chilling a bottle as soon as you get home. Good luck!
You know how you avoid wine headaches? Just drink more wine more often! That’s what my solution is anyway, no lie I probably have a glass every night, it just compliments dinner so much more than water. And, it always helps with a stressful day.
I used to do that… but then I started getting stingy on my wine purchasing… probably for the best. :p
Is fat free feta pretty good? I’ve always wanted to try it, but I’m kind of iffy about fat free cheese.
Glad your fun night made up for the crappy day. Wine makes everything better and it’s always worth it
I really like it. Of course regular feta is heavenly, but the fat free version at TJ’s is quite good. I guess they just use skim milk?
What race are you doing this Sunday? I will think of you when I run my first double digits training run…10 miles!!
Courtney
adventures in tri-ing
I’m doing Run for the Cheetah with my friend Annie! Last year I ran it as my first 5k ever, so it’s like a tradition now I guess?
Good luck with the 10 miles! Woo hoo!
Truth – the worst wine hangover I ever got was after drinking with my mom. She had the same amount and was fine, then made fun of me.
I think your mom is awesome…
Pizza + Wine = PURE LOVE! Although I am a red wine gal myself!
Hope the work day is better today AND I am crossing all my fingers and toes that you can run on Sunday!!! YAY!
so, your posts always crack me up and put a smile on my face and i like to take tidbits from each post that I could use as a general life quote. today’s is: “By the time the pizza was done, I was already two glasses into my night.” yep, pretty sure that’s happened on more than one occasion in my life……..
keep your chin up chica! we’re halfway to the weekend now
Oh I love that! ha ha…
And thanks! Just two more days, right?
i wish we had a trader joes around here! everthing always looks so good!
oh and vince looks pretty dang hot there!
I’ve never been much of a vino lover. Captain Morgan is more my speed. I’ve had a few mornings where I’ve regretted his company before, but in the case of a great meal and a good friend, you’re SO right it’s always worth it. Hope yoga was fantastic ooohhhhm.
