I wish I had some amazing and exciting post to fill you with laughter and entertainment.
I don’t.
Unless, of course, you think my stepping in dog poo last night in my favorite sandals is comical. In that case, you have come to the right place.
I need to learn to stick to sidewalks. That and a certain dog owner in my neighborhood really needs to clean up their shit. Literally.
Anyway, not much new to report here. Expect this to go in about a million different directions. Buckle your seatbelt and hold on.
So news… um…I mean… it’s raining… does that count?
Whatev. It’s Tuesday- which seems fitting. I don’t really care so much because there are no plans other than to work and make a stop in the gym.
Sorta like last night. There were a few scattered people running outside, reminding me of what I SHOULD be doing, now that I’ve got this 15k in November and all.
But there was rain in the air yesterday as well, so I kept my lame butt inside.
Why run outside when you can watch That 70′s Show on tv?
That’s complete sarcasm. I’m awful when it comes to concentrating on an actual show or news while running/working out/etc. Running seems to be my “la la” time and focus on one particular thing is usually not going to happen. However, it is some visual stimulation and is good for at least 10 or 15 minutes of distraction.
Which helped last night. After an indulgent weekend, the 4 miles seemed like a good way to rebound back into healthier ways. Even if there are meetings in my office with an abundance of catering to go along with it.
Good food that is free. Life is so harrrrrrrddddddd.
Hopefully, our new recycling bag at home will help to keep my eye on the prize instead of that bagel smothered in cream cheese:
We really need to figure out a new system for recycling other than just bags hanging out in the corner of the kitchen. It can’t be very sanitary.
Anyway… we’ll see how that particular image of motivation works today. In all the frantic buzzing around in my house to locate an umbrella, other than the two already in my car, in order to brave the downpour, I seem to have forgotten my meticulously packed lunch (a massive salad).
Luckily, because of the meetings, there’s always a sandwich to grab. But knowing me, why end there? There will also be cookies. And cheese and crackers. And more cookies…
Sigh…
Oh Tuesday… you win again!

I hate when people don’t clean up after their dogs. If you’re going to have a pet, you just have to suck it up and deal with the gross stuff. Assholes.
I have been SO off in my choice of recycling bags…
FYI, poo reminds me of when I was young and going to a “dance” and I stepped in dog stuff. My friend and I started rewriting the lyrics to VanHalen’s “Panama” – the part where David Lee Roth talks – and changed them to “Yeah I stepped in a little bit of shit last night… could barely see it.. from all the steam coming off of it… It squished up, between my toes… so I eased my foot back…”
This would be a lot funnier if you weren’t so young.
Oh man I love watching TV while running! Once or twice a week I run inside at my gym before work, and I always watch one episode of Married with Children (which I still find highly hilarious) and half an episode of Home Improvement (which used to be Saved by the Bell’s timeslot…not happy about this change, TBS!)
At least you use a bag for recycling…my stuff piles up on the counter. I don’t think it’s hygienic either – but it’s a *special* counter where no food or anything else goes.
Um i’ll take that hollister bag as a recycling bin…hubba hubba
Haha, sorry about the dog poop. Our recycling container is currently overflowing in our kitchen. Also, I used to use Abercrombie bags like that to decorate my basement wall. Yum.
I’ve been searching for a new recycling system also that doesn’t include empty beer cartons and old TJ bags. At least the Hollister bag is more appealing to look at that an old plain TJ’s bag. Just sayin.
I don’t even put my stuff in a bag most times. There’s a recycling thing downstairs in my complex so I just try to take a couple things at a time (mostly wine bottles, let’s be real). Not efficient, but whatever.
That’s exactly how we recycle, too. I’m just proud that we actually recycle. And seriously- this rain is not cool. It needs to stop.
I cannot watch TV while I run, I need like loud ear-blasting music and pretty scenery. My ADD goes into overdrive. Last night I was running at the park though and I get really sad seeing all the people with their doggies and realized that perhaps that wasn’t the best strategy either.
We’ve had some intense rain these past few days! I’ve gotten soaked on my way to work both days. LOL… what can I do?
I have some good Tuesday news for you. Check out my post from last Saturday…
Tuesday definitely wins when there is cookies involved!
At least you’re recycling. I’ve been trying to get my parents to recycle for YEARS!!!!!!
Yeah I’ve not been doing too well lately with eating well. That bag makes me want to do a million situps.
That dog owner is NOT me. I swear. I’ve practically got Maddux’s poop in a bag before it even hits the ground.
UGH, there is really nothing worse that stepping in dog shit in your sandals. Gross. On the subject of That 70s show, so the boys have been watching it on Netflix and while I watched it when it aired, I don’t remember it being so focused on sex! Good thing my boys are educated, but dang, I am shocked every time I watch the episodes with them. I think most of it goes over their heads, but not all of it.
Sorry about the poo incident. Hope your sandals recover quickly.
We bought a little cheapo recycling trash can for our kitchen from Target or Walmart for less than $12. It makes carrying stuff to our larger recycling pick-up bin much easier. Except cardboard. I fricken hate recycling cardboard.
omg we have matching recycling methods! Haha, nothing like a good old bag/box in the corner of the kitchen
TUESDAY! *shakes fist*
I use bags for recycling too. Mine aren’t sexy bags though.
Free food days make work worthwhile. Enter: elementary school birthdays. With 50 some students combined this year, I’m thinking I hit the jackpot.
Hahaha we keep most of our recycling in a bag too. Well, we have a giant bin, but somehow we manage to fill it up in like, 3 days. (Pizza boxes and beer cans… oh my.)
I LOVE THAT CLOUD PICTURE. I’m printing that out.
I just noticed the irony of me talking about recycling and unnecessarily printing something in the same comment.
oops
How annoying that people don’t clean up after their pets! I would have been so pissed!
I’ll take eye candy over sanitary any day. Every day, actually.
My recycling definitely hangs out in the corner of my kitchen, but it isn’t nearly as attractive as yours…
