First off- thanks everyone for the well wishes from yesterday’s post! I am truly excited about the upcoming weeks. And a little nervous. This will most likely affect my sleep patterns. Oh crap…
But until then, I’ll continue on. One random thought at a time:
1. I need to hit Target. Like soon. Toothpaste is not something you want to run low on. I imagine my male suitors (I know they’re out there somewhere, damnit) would agree.
2. Before an appointment in the ‘burbs last night, I headed to Mon’s house to visit and use her for her gym. We gossiped side-by-side on the elliptical like we did way back in the day as neighbors. Then, I sponged off of her even more when she offered to make us a home cooked meal.
Well. Close. Her homemade is salad from a bag with precooked steak and chicken strips. Extra steak for me. Because this girl could always use a good protein boost after working out.
If you knew her two years ago, you’d praise her for becoming a domestic goddess, too.
3. Happy National Running Day!
Guess it makes sense to schedule National Running Day the week after National Donut Day, huh?
So yeah- go celebrate! Celebrate by… uh… running?
This is great timing after National Wine Appreciation Month!
Wait- that’s not a real thing?
Umm… shhhhh… yes it is…
4. If I were to buy “totally twisted” shampoo (to give my hair more body) and accidentally buy “totally smooth” conditioner (the bottles are so similar!), what will happen? My hair is a walking contradiction today. I need to start reading labels more carefully.
And on top of that, it smells different now. Nice, but different. It’s like when I change deodorants. Everything gets thrown off and I feel as if a stranger is lurking directly behind me at all times.
5. Coffee wars are going down. At my current office’s breakroom, we have free coffee brewed in four industrial-sized dispensers. Recently, they started serving Starbucks in one, and there’s a movement to have more Starbucks dispensers than Dunkin’ Donuts. This is one of the greatest stressors I’ve been dealing with over the last week. Please don’t take away my Dunkin’!!!!
6. A peasant top is being worn for the first time. I don’t think I’m doing it right. Turns out hippie chic is another look I’ll have to pass on.
Sigh… this is what keeps me up at night.
On an exciting note, congrats to Cate for winning the 5k entry giveaway!
Good luck this Saturday, my friend!! And good luck to your mama, too!

Haha changing deodorants is confusing! A peasant top you say, huh? What exactly does something like that look like?
It looks like a big ol’ mess. That’s what it looks like…
You’ll go to Target for toothpaste and leave with a cart full of goodies, typically holiday theme related:)
Team Dunkin- I like my Starbucks, but don’t mess with what America runs on.
Adore that running day sign – hellz yes!
You really don’t want to know what keeps me up at night!
Haha! I know what you mean about changing deo. I tried on a sample perfume in the mall Saturday. Every time I’d lift my hand to look at an item, I’d get a waft of the stuff on my wrist. It surprised me every.freaking.time.
I love that your hair is a walking contradiction…that must be fun. I love a peasant top and I’m sure you’re wearing it well. You are all kids of different today. Maybe you should have done one at a time…
One at a time would have been better- agreed!
We have a coffee shop at work that carries all Starbucks now (thanks to our switch from Aramark to Sodexo). I stopped going and now get the caf coffee bc I heartily dislike Starbucks. If they put in Wawa coffee I think I’d never retire from here, haha! I am celebrating National Running Day by going to get my foot checked at the doc. Call the waaaaahmbulance.
That’s unfortunate- we’re an Aramark crowd, still. How does Starbucks have such a monopoly!?!?
Happy National Running Day!
My table is so atrociously filthy. I am so ashamed. I would have offered you yogurt, but it was mango flavored and I didn’t need you bitching about my fruit. You’re welcome.
Sigh… thanks Momica…
Haahahahahaha!!!!
Dunkin >>> Starbucks. Good thing you’re getting out of that office.
Seriously, right? Seems like shit is really hitting the fan…
I’m so excited for you (Belatedly) and your new job! It’s always hard to leave a job but I inevitably wonder why I didn’t do it sooner?
We so need toothpaste too. But I don’t particularly feel like dropping $100 at Target. Which is what I always do when I go in for toothpaste!
The work coffee situation can get serious. At my last job we had a little kiosk I would buy from, because our Keurig at work never really lived up to my standards. Here, we have a “secret pot” where we brew flavored coffee, but I don’t really like flavored coffee so I end up buying iced coffee from Manhattan Bagel most mornings. It’s important to get just the right type of caffeine, otherwise the day is shot.
Right. Which is one reason why I’m freaking’ about the new job! My routine will be ruined!!!
I accidentally bought the wrong deodorant, and everytime I move I can smell it and I wonder what the hell it is. It really messes with your mind.
I had to laugh about the coffee situation. We have one going on at my work too. As a matter of fact, the only other girl here and I have not spoken for like 2 months now because it got so out of hand. Apparently coffee is a touchy subject.
Understandable. I was once accused of randomly brewing the wrong coffee in the wrong pot just to screw with a coworker. She is psychotic.
I went to Target yesterday and managed to forget 3 things and buy 5 unnecessary things. You do the math.
Happens to the best of us. Totally.
I remember a while back you were going to talk about what curling iron you are using. Your hair looks fabulous and would love to know what makes those beautiful curls! Happy running day and congratulations on your new job. I’ve been out of touch for a while, so I’m wondering what your new job entitles and is it close to your home. Best of luck Amy!
I don’t see your responses so may be if you already answered these questions long ago you could email me, lol
Have a great week!
National wine appreciation month? How about year
Thank you – I’m excited to run!
happy running day! and good luck on your 5K this weekend too
You would probably die if they replaced all the coffee with Starbucks. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Wait- Mon bought precooked steak? Is that a thing?
Yeah- and I must say, I liked it! Who knew?
May 25th is National Wine Day. Since you probably missed it, just celebrate it on the 25th of each month the rest of the year to make up for it. I totally understand your Dunkin’ pain. When one opened here in Okie-land back on March 11th, I made it my own Holiday.
I like where your head is at… Maybe I’ll start precelebrating now…
I can’t pull off peasant tops, either. It’s ok.
Congrats on the new job Amy!! I am all for moving around while you’re still young and able to do what you like with no one to answer to!!
Sorry I didn’t make it over here yesterday to say congrats! The job news is very exciting!
I’m sure I’m going to make it in celebrating national running day. I was doing cardio yesterday while watching the end of the playoff game after having already lifted. My legs are a little tired from it all. Maybe I’ll go for a short run to loosen things up though.
The totally twisted shampoo… isn’t that herbal essence? Isn’t that the shampoo that makes you make inappropriate moaning sounds in the shower? hahahaha too far?
But seriously.
Dunkin > Starbucks
Our free coffee is MAXWELL HOUSE.
Gross..
It is! And it is! However, I don’t normally make moaning noises in the shower. I’d hate for the roommate to hear…ha
Those peasant tops always look horrible on me and make me feel like I’m trying to cover up a baby bump or something. But I’m sure it looks adorable on your skinny little bod’.
I love changing shampoos – my hair always smells so good from the different frangrance!
I’m sure you look adorable in that peasant top. Show off those skinny legs of yours!
