Sushi is something I don’t crave often.
And I feel that makes me weird. It’s often one of the first options listed for a girl’s night. Totally a first date cliché. Something people grab often for lunch. Or suggested for a “day after a long night” kind of thing because they find it refreshing.
But me?
Most of the time? Eh.
However, there’s always an exception to every rule.
And lately, I’ve been craving it. Like woah.
So when I received an offer to try out a meal from Delivery.com, it didn’t take long to decide what I would order first.
We can pretend I was all proper and ate my sushi at the table. But you know I just transported it to the coffee table in front of the television after this picture. It was Saturday night and I had trashy tv to watch. Sue me.
BAM.
Miso soup because you can’t do Japanese food without it. Asparagus roll to cover my veggie quota for the day.
AND… the whole reason I narrowed down my search on the site to Rollapalooza- the Black Monster Roll.
Shrimp tempura. Avocado. Cream cheese. All wrapped in black rice?
Taken. Down.
I rarely ever get delivery. Which is strange, given all of the nearby options I found on the site. But it was nice to not have to cook when feelin’ a bit lazy. Even if I thought some of the delivery fees from a few of the options (each restaurant sets it’s own fee) were a little high. From start to finish, I had my food in less than 35 minutes.
Just enough time to chill a bottle of wine for a bit beforehand.
Is it sad I think like that?
Delivery.com really came through for my lazy Saturday night. I only had to get off of the couch to answer the door. Why don’t I do this more often?
Since I’ve been signed up for a few weeks now, I’ve also gotten a promo email or two from them for things like $5 off my order. And quite a few of the restaurants have deals like 15% off for first-time orders. Now that’s what I’m talking about.
Next time I have a lazy night in by myself? Or maybe a chill night with the girls? Well. We know what website has made my favorites list.
When you get delivery, what do you usually order? I’d say for my household, it’s pizza 90% of the time. Or mexican carry out… ahem… at 2:00 in the morning… ahem…

LOVE sushi – thankfully there is nowhere around here that delivers it or else I’d be poor.
There are so many spots next to me! I think the price of it often keeps me from longing after it more often…
It’s weird, but I only get sushi when I travel for work, mostly because it’s hard to find relatively healthy things in some of the places I have to go (Okay. I only travel a couple times a year, but whatever.) I always get veggie rolls and then wonder why I don’t get sushi more when I’m at home. Then I remember I can’t expense it when I’m at home and suddenly I don’t crave sushi.
I almost always opt for veggie rolls, too. That , or the fish I get is usually at least smoked. Does this count as real sushi? I feel the obsessed sushi gurus may disagree. Whatev.
I don’t eat fish, so it totally counts as a sushi-like consumable. Obsessed sushi gurus can go fly a kite.
I used to have sushi all the time as a kid, but really don’t have it much lately. Veggie rolls are definitely my favorite and while the kids will eat sushi, I rarely eat it…hmmm.
Same with takeout or delivery. I just don’t do it. Although, I really don’t live in an area that does a whole lot of delivery of much more than pizza and Chinese food. Your dinner looks delicious and very comforting!

I used to order delivery sushi from diningin.com in college ALL the time. I thought delivery sushi was the best idea ever!
Sushi is definitely one of my gotos- I’m going to have to drive this place. I also love love love ordering takeout from Cozy- delicious Thai!

I love delivery on days when I’m hung over. I usually go with Thai, but sushi is never a bad idea.
I’ve always thought about checking one of these out while on work travel, but usually end up just driving to where I want to go. We never get delivery either..well unless it’s pizza
Sushi’s great and all, but I think the big news here is that you have local Mexican that’s open at 2 a.m. Sooooo jealous!
I may be the only person ever that doesn’t care for sushi. Meh. Not my thing.

I LOVE sushi!! I always want it! I don’t get it too often, though, cuz my boyfriend doesn’t like it too much. That roll looks. so. good!! I just had sushi less than a week ago but I think it’s calling my name sooner than that!

that looks delicious! I’m so weird, I rarely slash never get delivery. I’m like an oxymoron in NYC. If I were to get takeout, I’d probably do Sushi or this hummus place.
I have only really had sushi once, and it was ok, but lately I’ve actually been craving it. Good sushi, too…not that supermarket ish.

Oh sushi… I LOVE it!! BUT, I do have to be in the mood for it. I’ll crave it for weeks and weeks and then sometimes the thought of it makes me want to barf. But that looks amazing!
Delivery is usually pizza around here.. AKA, the only thing that delivers to my house. I’m so jealous of you guys who live in cities!
Sushi is my go-to when I have zero energy. My grocery bills from Whole Foods are a testament to that! This looks delicious…so envious of your delivery service. I could use that right now.

I remember my old boss used to get sushi at Chase every day and act like it was a big deal. LOL.
That was the prettiest home delivery I have ever seen. I haven’t had food delivered in at least 4 years. I will get take out though.
