Ok, fine. It’s not just a Tuesday first, but a professional first.
Work from home.
I got a taste. And I liked it.
I liked it a lot.
Granted, I know all the benefits of being in an office during the day.
More focus.
Socialization.
Free motor oil coffee from the break room.
What’s not to love?
However, the cool thing about my current job is that they’re flexible. And allow for me to schedule around routine doctor appointments by getting my 8 hours in from the comfort of my living room.
I didn’t have to shower right away. I got a home-cooked lunch.

Ok, fine. It was only semi-homemade. The roommate shared some leftover meatloaf cupcakes from her bar outting on Monday night. Yes. Meat. In cupcake form. Genius.
And the hour I saved in commute was an extra half hour of sleep + an extra couple of miles to my standard mid-week gym session- 6 total for the day.
Since there’s another travel weekend coming up, the long(erish) run had to happen sometime, right?
Anyway…
So the working from home is sort of awesome. Except for the whole “8 hours of access to stress eat out of my pantry” thing.
Discipline. It’s something I don’t have.
Which would probably also explain the extra drink I had after dinner last night. And why I didn’t go to the gym this morning.
If I didn’t have such a good time over dinner, I’d probably be more upset.
Instead, I’ll just fill up my to-go mug with coffee and head to the office. Per usual.
And yes, for the people who have asked, this is the same dude as a few weeks ago. He hasn’t been scared off just yet.
Which is surprising. Because we end up accidentally getting ourselves into situations. Like when we decided to go to a nearby favorite bar of mine. And ended up sitting down for drinks in the middle of trivia night.
Kinky trivia night, to be exact.
I guess there’s no better way to learn more about a person…
Ok, now really… time to head into the office…
Laters.

Kinky trivia???? WHAT GENIUS!!!!!!
Working from home totally rocks. And who really wants to socialize with coworkers anyway??
I have to admit that I wish I could work from home more often. My job is pretty flexible, but I can’t push things without a good excuse (and saving the gas and being able to wear yoga pants/make a decent lunch at home apparently don’t qualify.) But I agree that at times, the discipline issue comes into play…blog reading, anyone?
Haha my company is flexible too so I occasionally work from home, but it usually means I’m snacking ALL DAY haha. It’s probably good I don’t do it often
Kinky trivis sounds hilarious!!
Jay works from home every day and he says it gets old b/c he has no one to talk to. But he loves his “dress code”.
I love working from home, for the same reasons as you, but also BECAUSE I can snack all day long. I love snacks.
I also love meat muffins. And I bet I’d love kinky trivia.
I’ve been able to WFH a few times at my new job and it is so wonderful. Plus instead of 5 minutes in the break room hearing about someone’s kids, you can take 5 minutes to unload the dishwasher. win-win!
must make meatloaf cupcakes. they sound so trendy. let’s start that.
I ate so many “snacks” while working from home… there are perks, then there was the size of my expanding ass…. haha
I haven’t worked from home yet, but we are allowed to if we have an appointment or something. It’s on a case by case basis. I don’t know if I would really be very productive.
Working from home in pjs is one of my favorite things. But only for a day- I need people to keep me from losing my shit when working
I am working from home right now! One of the perks is that I can take mini-breaks to catch up on my favorite blogs
As for the snacks, the first couple Wednesdays I worked from home, I ATE SO MANY SNACKS. Now it’s tapered off a bit, thank god. Work from home? More like work from kitchen.
I love working from home. But yes, the kitchen is a danger zone on those days. I try to keep less snacky stuff around, but when it’s there I murder it.
Haha, sounds like it was a fun night…still haven’t made it to kinky trivia!! I’m completely jealous of your working from home situation. That’s the stuff of dreams.
I LOVE working from home! It is so calming! Ok, I’m totally making meatloaf cupcakes for the boys now! They are going to love this!
I hope you get to work from home more often! I actually focus more at home. And eat healthier (my coworker says the pantry calls her name when she works from home though). And save THREE HOURS of my day. YES, please!
And I feel like we need more deets on this fellow, you tease!
Kinky trivia would be a blast – with the right people, of course. I’m sure it wasn’t too awkward or anything. Heck, even if it was, that’s what the extra drink was for, right?
So far, I enjoy working from home, but I do miss getting out and about during the day.
How grownup…except for all the stress eating. Kinky trivia…at least you were only indirectly to blame for awkwardness.
I love working from home!!! I feel like I get SO much more done.
Ok, I have to know where you work!! i would love love love to work from home..well at least some of the time.
But like someone said, I would probably end up snacking quite a bit!
I LOVE work from home days. It’s so great to sleep in (relatively speaking of course), lounge around in pajamas all day, and have direct access to the kitchen (dangerous…). I swear I’m more productive in the comforts of my own home as well. Hope you get to do it more often!
Some days I love working from home and then others? I just can’t imagine not being at the office. It’s so nice to have that flexibility though right?
Meatloaf looks delicious!!
