Here’s the thing.
Two weeks ago?
There were absolutely no plans for this last weekend.
Not a one.
Then life happened. So did a friend’s birthday celebration, last day of work celebration, a couple of concerts, brunch with a friend who was in town, family dinner with one of the families who have “adopted” me over the years, oh, and a Sunday block party.
It seems to be, when I leave weekends unplanned, they become busier than ones that are.
Weird.
Don’t ask me how I snuck in one night to myself with 10 hours of sleep (no clue). Or how I got in a 5-mile run. The first run, officially, of my half marathon training.
It went relatively well. Considering it was crazy humid outside.
But I persevered. Because that’s what I do.
That and I made use of every water fountain I came across on the lakefront.
Safety first, yo.
Crazy busy weekend?
I can handle it.

I swear my roommate and I weren’t the only people at the block party. We just happened to be in an empty corner…
We also happened to have a photographer who wanted his finger to have its 15 minutes of fame. Sigh.
Crazy week?
I can handle it.
Because I’m excited. It’s the first day at my new job. And I’m freakin’ a little. But change is inevitable. And good for you. We just had this discussion.
Bring it ON, Monday.
Just lemme go grab another water bottle first. It’s hot out there.
